Bruno passed away peacefully in his sleep in his 89th year.  He is survived by his daughter, Debra Beauregard (Jeff Mains) of Ottawa.  He was born in Saint Hyacinthe, Quebec and has resided in Bolton-Est, Quebec (Eastern Townships) since 1995.  Sadly, he was recently predeceased by his wife, Anne, who passed away this Spring, and by their son, Norman, in 2015.

Bruno and Anne were married for 64 years.  They met at a skating rink and he was so entranced that he determined to learn English so they could date.

He loved living at the lake and spent hours paddling in his canoe following the shore.   He also enjoyed going for a walk with his binoculars and watching birds and other wildlife in the fields.  Bruno was a great photographer.  On a walk on the back road, he came face to face with a bear.  The bear started walking away and he couldn’t get a photo of it in time.  So, as he got his camera ready, he scuffed his foot on the gravel and the bear half turned around.  Bruno got a fantastic photo (and a stern talking-to from Anne).

Above everything else, Bruno was an artist.  He brought a creatively beautiful touch to everything he made, from furniture to wood carvings to canoe paddles to delicate paintings of flowers.  His style was unmistakeable and his work was always perfectly detailed.

Bruno's working career in advertising was in Montreal, retiring from Thomson Newspapers in 1995. After moving to the Eastern Townships, he was actively involved in the local community and served as a municipal councillor.

As per Bruno’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. A private family interment will be held at a future date.

Toutes mes sympathies Mme Debra. I was sadden by your father's passing. And deeply touched by the short story of his life and the way it is written here above. Beyond the scars of life often did I hear very touching story of people's life. Your's is one of those. And you are lucky , you were first row witness. All my sympathie again. Robert

My sincere condolences to you and Jeff. My memories of your parents are admittedly vague but they really were both so tolerant & kind to have so frequently hosted such a large group of teenagers...My thoughts are with you.
