Mr. Adam Kulakowsky
01/11/1979 - 10/02/2025 On February 10, Adam Kulakowsky passed suddenly in his sleep. He was surrounded by his wife Allison, and his daughters Ella and Adelaide who were his world. Adam leaves behind his father Thomas, his mother Sonia, his brother Michael, father in law and mother in law Don and Lynne Webb, brother in law Bry, sister in law Sofie, nephew Kaj, niece Freja, niece Asa and many aunts, uncles and cousins, and his dog Viggo.
Adam was born in Hamilton in 1979, but grew up in Grimsby. He spent his formative years frolicking on the family’s Christmas tree farm. Adam attended McMaster University and graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in 2002. Adam had an illustrious career playing varsity football and then following a back injury, varsity soccer at MacMaster University. Adam followed his passion for working with children and attended Teachers College at Canisius College in New York, graduating in 2004.
He started his teaching career in 2004. Adam had many roles at various schools over his 20 years of teaching. He began his teaching career in Mississauga for a short assignment at Churchill Meadows. In 2008 Adam and Alli decided to make the move north and joined the Bluewater District School Board. His first assignment was at Highpoint Community School in Dundalk where he worked as a Learning Resource teacher, helping students with unique needs. He then moved to Osprey Community School in Maxwell for a short assignment with a junior grade homeroom class. His next school was Meaford Community School in Meaford where he had many different assignments including Learning Resource and Homeroom. After several years in Meaford, Adam settled at Beaver Valley Community School in Thornbury for his longest assignment primarily as a junior grade 6 homeroom teacher. Adam most recently taught in the Humanities Department at Stanstead College and coached the junior boys soccer and senior girls basketball teams. He always brought charisma, humour, and sometimes controversy to each school. Adam had a passion for fitness, sports, coaching, and a good bicep pump. His endless hours poured into coaching young athletes will leave a legacy and a newly cultivated love for sport.
He will forever be remembered for his amazing impersonations, athletic skill, and his “Gap Kids” sized muscle shirts. Whether coaching soccer, basketball or track and field, Adam was always entertaining, enthusiastic and cared tremendously about his students. He was competitive and his coaching went well beyond the school setting. Adam was very involved with coaching rep soccer, and running track events. His level 3 ¼ ski instructor coaching qualifications brought him to the hill to guide young skiers. Adam was also a talented musician and this could be appreciated by all of his students during one of his many “Face Melting Guitar Solos” during the school day. He loved to jam with his girls (Ella and Adelaide) in school talent shows.
Adam will be greatly missed by his very large loving family and many wonderful friends.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations in his honour to the Georgian Bay Coyotes Track Club.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Craigleith Ski Club on Wednesday March 26th from 5-8pm. All are welcome.
We are so sorry for your lost.
Adam played a huge role in that lives of my two boys. Both were so lucky to have him as a teacher and coach.
When we just moved to Canada , we were so lucky Lars came into his class. He came out off his shell. Adam inspired him in many ways.
With all our love and deepest sympathy,
Ilse, Dirk, Lars and Niels Roggeman
Words cannot begin to express how deeply sorry we are and much we are holding you in our hearts right now. Sending you so much love.
Carrie Connelly and family
We are so very sorry for your loss. Adam was instrumental in Taylor coming out of her shell in class and on the field/court and taking on her love of sports in a more competitive fashion. We will forever be grateful for the time we got to sit on the sidelines with Adam. His enthusiasm and voice will be missed. We are sending all our love to you all.
Laura, Greg, Taylor (Tay Tay) and the Nuggets (Charley and Reagan) Rice
Our hearts are with you, the girls, your family, and Adam’s family during this heartbreaking time. Over the many years we worked together at Kalola Spa, we built more than just a working relationship—we built a deep and lasting friendship with you, Adam, and the girls. You have always been like family to us, and we hold you close in our thoughts.
Adam was a force—his energy, passion, and love for life were undeniable. If anyone could move beyond Heaven and earth, it would be him. He will always be with you, guiding, loving, and protecting you.
Wishing you peace and strength in the days ahead. Sending you much love from Alvard and me.
With all our love and deepest sympathy,
Carol & Alvard
