When Death pounces upon the life of a loved one, there is no being prepared that stops the waves of emotions that come with it. The 13th of February 2019, while at the CHUS Fleurimont, Maria Gerarda Hubertina Acda (late Giovanni Patella), Riet to her friends, passed away from this world suddenly when her heart decided to join those she missed so; leaving her loving son, Aaron A. Patella (Isabelle Ducharme), her grandchildren Alexandra and Christophe, her sister Ans De Boo (late Job de Boo Sr) and her niece Roosmarijn de Boo(Diederik Versluis) and nephew Job de Boo (Sophie de Valk) to mourn her passing, as well as many friends.
We are grateful to have been in the presence of such a great heart. It is rare that we keep our child-like generosity to the extent that Riet did her whole life. All who knew her will remember the welcome she gave to all and sundry. Her home was a ray of sunshine in a world of banalities. She will be dearly missed.
Service will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 201 Main St North Hatley, J0B 2C0, Québec on Saturday the 23rd of February 2019 at 2:00. Prior to service at 1:00, the family will receive condolences at the Church.
